heaven...

Cresting upon this track
trod by the feet of many weary travellers,
hues of purple lavender
attack my senses
this view i see,
a scene painted in my imagination.

The sea
the sea,oh so many colours
like the palette of a fine artist,
horizon streching away, beckoning me,
come home,
come home,
ride upon my snowy surf
to lands beyond this view.

All around the air is still, yet teems with life
bees, butterflies,
frantically dancing there days away,
and i
sitting so still
breathing in this view,
making memories
for when skies are full of clouds.

Am i dead?
for heaven cannot be but a whisper away from this,
a view changed,
by season
by weather, by mood,
and i a mere spectator,
in a view,
that will live beyond me

I will one day get my dream to live by the sea... with its ever changing moods...  this is my dream.... one day...

Taken by me... on  a windswept skegness beach... :)

A low day..

I guess we all have them... i don't have a lot to say today so i will let my poetry say the words.... catch you tomorrow

He sits there
eyes as blank as his only companion: the empty sky
his hands trace the carved wooden inscriptions,
of loves come and gone,
upon the old and withered bench.

He scans the horizon
coffee shades that merge seamlessly
for some sign; a symbol
although he is no longer sure of what
something to soothe the loneliness that eats away at him.

Seconds drip into minutes fall into hours
still his lone figure remains a sad silhouette
alone with the sky
waiting for love to take him home.

Tuesday evening

Hello from me... well i have spent most of the afternoon sewing, i do find it quite therapeutic, I was just saying to my hubby, that 4 or so years ago i would never have believed that i would have had the ability to do this.. i still doubt myself, i guess it comes from that being told 'you will never be good enough' but i guess in this past few years, i have begun to believe that maybe i am good enough... :0)

I used to think that if i was nice to everyone then, in return they would be nice back, but unfortunately, i have come to the conclusion that people are not like that, well not all people, its a sad reflection on society, a grasping mentality, a need to be just that little bit better than everyone else, i see it every day, someone having to have the newest car, the most up to date ipod, or ipad, and i wonder do we buy things to make ourselves more deserving in our own eyes? I guess some people do... i am quite happy with my little crappy nokia phone, it makes calls and sends text messages... it will do me... I dont have that many friends to need a great huge phone, that does everything but wipe your bum!!!

I love my friends.
There is always someone who makes me smile.. most of these i admit are facebook friends.. they come from a wide range of places... blackpool to the states... and i love them all... If i could travel to see each one of them.. and give them all a great big hug.. for making me smile the way they do...... so you keep your fance smancy things.. ill stick with my friend.. they will be there a long time after those things are relegated to the bottom drawer.

We are just posting some new animals up on Sock Monkeys By Marie' Ill post some of the photos, either tonight or tomorrow.
Sleep well

Hello and welcome to my Blog

Welcome to the blog of Marie... chief  needle holder of Sock monkeys by Marie... although I will be having lots of sock animal related posts on here, it will be a way for people to see what i get up too, when i don't have a needle in my hand!!
As many of you will already know, i am married to Pierre, we met on a poetry website, just over 2 years ago, and we have been married a year and a half, he is my world, my constant support, he is my other half, putting it quite simply. :)
I also have a son, he is 11 years old, and an amazing boy, 5 years ago he was diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome (asd) but working together we have managed to make his life as easy and as simple as possible, he is a credit to me, and my husband, and i wouldn't have him any other way.. he is my Angel.
I have many and varied hobbies, if i could possible have a few extra day in a week i could possible squeeze some more in :D
I currently am making sock animals  and have an external website and one on Facebook as well. i will paste the links in when i can figure out how to do it!! I have made some amazing friends on Facebook, both sewing/business friends but also some amazing 'normal' friends..lol And some not so normal ones too!!!
I hope to be able to link some when i have the chance so you can see the amazing talents that are out there... don't forget to support hand made.

Here is a photo of one of the sock animals i have created.. her name is georgina!! Unfortunately she has been sold, but i am always adding more items like this to our on-line shop, so please keep popping by:)
Here is May, made from socks and reused materiel... stuffing is recycled pillow stuffing... so I am helping the environment too...

And here is Amos... a one off sock monkey... we have many more available on our face book page.. new ones being added daily :)
